Children's Tooth Eruption

From the time a child is born, teeth begin to form beneath the gums. At four months of age, a baby's first teeth may begin to erupt. The bottom two, center teeth come first, followed by the top, center two. These teeth are called central incisors. By age three, most children have all 20 primary teeth. Eruption order varies. At age six, children's permanent teeth can begin erupting. Molars (back teeth) and central incisors come first. By age 21, most people have all of their permanent teeth, 28 for adults, and up to 32 including wisdom teeth.
